John has been working in leadership development and coaching for over two decades and is passionate about working in a highly professional learning and development industry. Though a highly regarded specialist in executive coaching, he has led large change and leadership programs in corporate, government and NFP organisations across the ASEAN region. His work ranges from developing individuals and teams to cohorts of leaders and whole organisations. 


Business Background and Experience


John was the Head of Asia – People and Leadership and was responsible for building and running the business across Asia. He brought a wealth of experience and expertise to his work having run businesses and business units. He remains very involved with the International Coach Federation supporting local chapters around the region and is currently one of the Global Ambassadors for the ICF Foundation. He was privileged to contribute to the first and only coaching guideline in the world, The Handbook for Coaching in Organizations published by Standards Australia in 2011. 


John has worked with managers and leaders at all levels in private and public sectors across APAC. He has worked with organisations in industries including Legal, Regulatory, Engineering, Banking, Insurance, Social Media, Advertising, Pharmaceuticals, Digital, TV Production, Education, Universities and all levels of Government.




John brings an evidence-based approach drawing on relevant research and measurement to drive desired results. He applies a systems thinking filter to everything he does, working from the Ralph Stacey principle that “the quality of the system, is determined by the quality of the relationship which is determined by the quality of the conversation”.

Recent Client Engagements


  • Hong Kong: Consult, design, deliver and manage a culture change program in luxury retail organisation turning a newly developed competency framework into behaviour change driving business outcomes. He worked with the CEO, the executive and all levels of management.
  • APAC: Investment Bank MD – purpose of the coaching was to support him to adapt his leadership style to be ready to take on a senior Asia-Pac compliance role based in Singapore.
  • Singapore: Coaching senior leaders in banking and investment supporting their development to take on, or transition into larger regional roles managing and reporting to global stakeholders locally, and in the USA and EMEA.
  • Australia: Major update for company performance management program – consulted, designed, developed, trained and delivered workshops across Australia and NZ to increase leader capability to have performance conversations. Recognised as the largest culture change initiative in the bank’s history.
  • Singapore: Program lead for central government agency wanting to build a coaching culture.
  • Asia: Work with the leadership team from across Asia to improve performance and influence culture shift across the region.
